Caring Community Church

Why do you serve at Caring Community?

I love volunteering! And volunteering at CCC is an important part of my life. I believe that the church can only feed into our lives if we feed back into it and volunteering to serve your church is an important part of being a Christ follower. I also learned about volunteering from my mother who never just sat in the pew on Sunday morning. She was always serving the church in some way.

How long have you been serving at Caring Community?

I have been attending CCC for over 35 years, and I started serving in children's ministry when I was in my early 20s, so close to 35 years.

What area(s) do you serve in, or have you served in the past?

Most of my volunteering has been in Children's Ministry. I have taught Sunday School at all age levels and a few years leading the Youth Group. I have led Children's musicals, Vacation Bible School, chaperoned for Acquire the Fire, was a member of the Children's Ministry Board, cleaning team, counting team, led several women's bible studies, as well as served on the LBA.

What is something you would like to share to encourage others to volunteer?

I would start by saying I haven't enjoyed all of my volunteer positions as much as others but if I felt God was calling me to do it and I obeyed, I always got some joy and benefit from it. But if you have something you are passionate about, or that you just really enjoy and you can use that, or allow God to use it, to serve your church family that is certainly time well spent! 35 years will go by quicker than you think and oh the wonderful memories you will have!
