Why do you serve at Caring Community?
I started volunteering for the Tech Team, since they were lacking people to do it, so I said, “Alright, I'll try it.” My initial thought about volunteering was that it would be boring, but as I started to do it, I felt satisfied with doing things, even if it was just slides. Fast forward 3 years, and I've volunteered for the Tech Team at least 150 times, and was still very satisfied.
One day, I saw that I had been signed up for Bass Guitar for the Worship Team, and I was very confused. I soon figured that Pastor Eric signed me up for it because he had heard of my musical talents. For the record, I can play several instruments, including: Bass Guitar, Banjo, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Classical Guitar, French Horn, and many other instruments, and I am thankful to God for giving me such musical capabilities. I ended up playing Bass Guitar for church, and I was happy and felt as if I had actually started using my musical talents for Him. As I've continued to volunteer for the Worship Team, I have played Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar, and Acoustic Guitar, and plan in the future to play the drumkit and potentially sing.
How long have you been serving at Caring Community?
I've been volunteering for CCC for just about 4 years.
What area(s) do you serve in, or have you served in the past?
Tech Team and Worship Team.
What is something you would like to share to encourage others to volunteer?
I'd like to say to anyone who is considering volunteering, it is 100% worth it. The fulfillment you get from volunteering is more than worth it. Plus, you're using your God-given gifts for His glory, so of course it's great!
