Why do you serve at Caring Community?

I want to lead by example. I'm not much for sitting and I feel like I'm being helpful if I am moving while tasks are being accomplished.

How long have you been serving at Caring Community?

I started attending when we met at the Methodist Church, which was over 30 years ago. We had to set up chairs and tear them down each week, which was one of my jobs!

What area(s) do you serve in, or have you served in the past?

Currently I serve on the Security, Missions, Cleaning and Greeting Teams. I also serve BOB on 6 Strong. I have also served on the building team and helped with VBS, youth events, fundraisers and men’s retreat.

What is something you would like to share to encourage others to volunteer?

If you see an area that needs help, before you turn away think...did the Holy Spirit just point that out to me? Consider what is it really going to take to help, usually not that much, and you can change someone's life for eternity!

When I first started attending, I always thought, at least they can't throw me out for singing poorly, I would laugh to myself and point that fact out to new attenders! The same concept applies to volunteering, no one will turn away a helpful hand.

Thanks for allowing my assistance!
