Why do you serve at Caring Community?
I volunteer because that’s what keeps the church going and is expected by Jesus. If we are helping to bring up the next generation by teaching the young people, that helps our church to grow. If we don’t teach our youth, the church dies. Volunteering also helps to keep our doors open.
How long have you been serving at Caring Community?
Volunteering at any church I am a member of is my habit. I began volunteering at Caring Community
Church the first time by serving watermelon at the 4th of July event not long after I started attending here, which was about 10 years ago.
What area(s) do you serve in, or have you served in the past?
I have the privilege of serving on the board, as a member of the worship team and working with the kids. I’m on the newly formed missions committee. I was a co-leader for a women’s Bible study. I’m planning a conference in the fall for women recovering from past trauma. This will be a kickoff to a support group for women who have gone through trauma.
What is something you would like to share to encourage others to volunteer?
I encourage anyone to volunteer as a way of tithing your time and talents to the church. It’s another way to grow spiritually and boost your joy.
